Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention: Peer Educator

I served as a peer educator for the University Health Center's Fontaine center for two years during my undergraduate experience. Specifically, I belonged to the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP) sector. I promoted prevention strategies and workshops regarding relationship and sexual violence. We spread awareness throughout the campus and hosted events monthly to further educate students of potential violence within interpersonal relationships. We advocate for survivors and those who have experienced any sort of abuse.

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital

Through my experience at Piedmont Athens Regional, I volunteered in the emergency department and assisted in Covid-19 screening of patients and their families. I checked patients into the emergency room, guided individuals around the hospital, and kept the waiting room clean. I was able to gain communication skills with clinical exposure by interactions with patients.

Athens-Clarke County Flu Shot Clinics

During Fall season of 2021, I worked with the Wellness Coordinator of Athens-Clarke County to volunteer at the plethora of flu shot clinics offered. The Flu vaccine was available to all Full-Time & Part-Time ACC employees, Retirees & Retiree-spouses at no cost. At the clinics, I was able to aide in patient navigation, registration, and observation of vaccines.
