Social Technologies and Risk Reduction Lab (STARR)

I had the honor of participating in the Social Technologies and Risk Reduction (STARR) lab. I worked alongside other undergraduate and graduate students to identify common themes and patterns amongst interviews of women in African countries. These interviews were in reference to experience with interpersonal violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. I performed qualitative coding and worked in groups to code to agreement to align findings. I worked with Nvivo Software to categorize similar codes and themes together into one file. During this lab, professional writing was also addressed as I was able to annotate and review proposals and articles.

I gathered completed research studies to identify gaps and risk factors contributing to the high rates of diagnosed STIs.
